KOHILA ALA MELLUM


INGREDIENTS

 

• Kohila tubers  - 200g
• Grated coconut  - 50g
• Green chilies -  02 capsules
• Curry leaves
• Pepper seeds - 10 
• Lime juice
• Salt
• Oil - 02 tablespoons
• Piece of cinnamon bark
• Water - 1 1/2 cups
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon

 

Preparation

• Cut Kohila tubers and grind
• Grind grated coconut, garlic, green chilies, curry leaves, black pepper, turmeric powder and salt together and mix well
• Heat oil in a pan, add sliced onion and piece of cinnamon bark and fry until the onions turn golden brown
• Add ground Kohila tubers into the pan containing fried onion and cinnamon, add water & salt to taste and boil
• After all the water is evaporated from the boiling Kohila tubers; add the prepared coconut paste as mentioned above, mix and heat 2 to 3 minutes
• Add lime juice and serve
