STIR FRIED LOTUS ROOT


INGREDIENTS

 

• Lotus root, peeled and sliced - 2 cups
• Crushed dried red chillie - 1-2 teaspoon
• Soy sauce - 3 tablespoon
• Honey - 1-2 teaspoon
• Garlic - 3 cloves
• Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
• Handful of peanuts (optional)
• Dash of pepper
• Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
• Salt to taste

 

Preparation

• Grind the ginger and garlic to a paste.
• Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok.
• Add the ginger/garlic paste. Fry till fragrant. Add crushed chillie, the lotus root stir fry for about five minutes.
• Add the all remaining ingredients. Stir fry for a minute.
• Serve hot.
