Work shop on initiation of the sub-project “Home garden diversification” at the Niunhella pilot site
The work shop for initiation of the sub- project on Home Garden Diversification was held on 3rd June 2017, from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Niunhella Village, with the participation of 50 villagers selected for the home garden diversification project. The work shop was conducted by the officers at the Department of Agriculture, Assistant Director’s office, Ruwanwella. Presentation on biodiversity for food and nutrition though home garden
diversification was presented by Dr. W.L.G. Samarasinghe. Assistant director, Mrs. Nilma Rajapaksha addressed the gathering on the importance of organic cultivation promoting the concept of home gardening. Agriculture instructor Mr. Alahakoon organized the 50 villagers selected for the sub project in to a home garden society to ease implementation of the project.
